We Help You Understand Your Investment Options
Since 2019, we've been working with Canadian business owners who need clarity around capital decisions. No jargon, no pressure — just practical analysis that helps you see what might actually work.
Started From One Simple Question
Back in early 2019, I was working with a manufacturing client in Ontario who was stuck between two equipment upgrade paths. Both looked reasonable on paper. But when we dug into the numbers — really dug in — one option would have drained their operating cash for nearly eight months.
That's when it clicked. Most businesses don't need elaborate financial models. They need someone to walk through the practical side of investment decisions without the corporate finance theater.
So that's what Dangerousex became. A straightforward service for owners who want to understand what their capital commitments actually mean before they make them. We started in Vancouver, working mostly with mid-sized operations across BC and Alberta. Now we support clients across Canada who appreciate honest evaluation over polished presentations.
How We Got Here
A few key moments that shaped what we do and how we work with clients.
Started in Vancouver
Launched with three clients and a laptop. Focused on equipment financing evaluations for small manufacturers who were tired of generic bank spreadsheets.
Expanded Service Scope
Added property investment analysis and business acquisition reviews. Learned that real estate decisions needed just as much practical evaluation as equipment purchases.
Cross-Province Work
Started working with clients in Ontario and Quebec. Remote evaluation became our standard approach, which meant tighter processes and clearer documentation.
Refined Our Focus
Now working exclusively on capital decisions between $100K and $5M. This range is where practical analysis makes the biggest difference and where we can provide the most value.
Cash Flow Reality Check
We start by mapping your current cash position and how an investment would affect it month by month. Not just the obvious costs — the operational impact too. This usually reveals timing issues that aren't obvious from annual projections.
Scenario Modeling
Most decisions involve multiple paths. We build out two or three realistic scenarios showing different outcomes based on market conditions, timing, and operational variables. You end up with a clear picture of best case, likely case, and what happens if things go sideways.
Exit Strategy Planning
Before you commit capital, we work through what unwinding or exiting would look like. Equipment resale values, lease termination costs, property market liquidity. Understanding your exit options changes how you evaluate the entry decision.
Questions We Hear Often
Straight answers to what most business owners want to know before working with us.
Who typically uses your service?
Established businesses making capital decisions between $100K and $5M. Usually equipment purchases, property investments, or business acquisitions where the numbers are significant enough to warrant outside evaluation.
See our process detailsHow long does evaluation take?
Most projects wrap in two to three weeks. Initial review takes about a week, then we spend another week on scenario modeling and documentation. Rush situations can be faster if you have all your numbers organized.
Discuss your timelineWhat information do you need?
Current financials, details on the investment you're considering, and your operating cash flow patterns. The more complete your information, the more useful our analysis. We can work with incomplete data but it limits precision.
Get startedDo you work outside Vancouver?
Yes. Most of our work happens remotely now. We have clients across BC, Alberta, Ontario, and Quebec. Physical location doesn't matter as long as you can share financial documents digitally and handle video calls.

Small team, direct access. When you work with Dangerousex, you're working with people who've spent years in operational finance roles before starting this service.
Brennan Culhane
Lead Analyst
I spent twelve years as a finance manager for mid-sized manufacturing and distribution companies before starting Dangerousex. Most of that time was spent helping owners figure out whether equipment upgrades or expansion projects actually made sense for their operations.
What I learned is that standard financial analysis misses the operational reality. Cash flow projections look great until you account for how long installation actually takes, or what happens to productivity during transition periods.
These days I work directly with business owners who need someone to run their numbers without the sales pitch. We look at what could realistically happen, not what should happen in theory.
